he Exempt Firemen's Association is one of the   
   regions oldest and largest voice for volunteer firefighters, having been established in November of 1886 by Oliver H. Booth.  A Main Street firehouse O. H. Booth Hose Company is named after him.  Headquartered at 200 Mansion Street in the City of Poughkeepsie and under the leadership of President Chris Petsas, past President of the Roosevelt Fire Department, the Association represents over 2,200 dues paying members.
